Professional career

Haynie joined the
LPGA Tour The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekl ...
in 1961 at the age of 18 and she achieved her first professional title championship in 1962 at age 19 at the Austin Civitan Open. She would continue to win a total of 42 events on the LPGA Tour, including four major championships. She finished in the top ten on the money list every year from 1963 and 1975. The last time for this distinction was her 14th and final time in 1982 when she placed second in earnings that year as well as four other years. She was awarded LPGA Player of the Year honors in 1970. She was inducted into the
